About...Community
Atmosphere
Ronald Harvey School is the neighbourhood school for families living primarily in the Lacombe Park, Lacombe Park East, Lacombe Park Estates, Mission and the new development of Northridge. Our school is located in a large park area with access to a wonderful community playground.
We are a student-centred school providing a safe, caring and nurturing learning environment. Our philosophy is that we provide all of our students the opportunities to achieve their personal best. With a strong focus and tradition of academic excellence, we also recognize that children should participate in enriched learning opportunities that go "beyond the basics". By weaving an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation, a spirit of caring and compassion, and a climate reflecting broad-based collaboration and participation, we continue to "Reach Higher".
Partnerships
We are proud partners with the Servus Credit Union who has supported us by presenting two citizenship awards to students who have made exemplary contributions that month. Students' artwork is displayed at the St. Albert Servus branch office, and our choir performed there at Christmas.
Our Lorax Club (who takes care of our Discovery Garden) wrote a proposal and won a $500 grant from Servus Credit Union to purchase perennials, shrubs, compost, tools and gloves for students to enhance our beautiful Discovery Garden. Thanks to Servus for providing this opportunity for our school. Also, thanks is extended to many members of the Servus Credit Union branch in St. Albert who have volunteered to help at the Penny Carnival, Jump Rope for Heart, Hot Lunch days, attend assemblies and appear on RHTV. We enjoy and value the community partnership with Servus. You can view a gallery of pictures from our discovery garden on our Gallery Index page.
